The purpose of this document is to illustrate the overall vision of Downtown Baytown to the community and enable the City, property owners and citizens tomake informed decisions about future developments and enhancements. The Downtown Master Plan: Area One was developed to address issues of an aging downtown infrastructure, dilapidated structures and lack of a current market for Downtown. The streetscape improvement plan capitalizes on the existing assets of the area while providing a framework for future development. The plan will use public investment to increase the economic vitality of downtown and create a new image and sense of identity for Downtown Baytown. The changes and improvements outlined in this document will require careful coordination so that the City can invigorate the center of the city and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
